Ari’s Bass Blog (“we”, “us”, “our”) provides online bass education, including courses, live practice sessions, and related community features, through arisbassblog.com and our course platform. You can reach us at any time at [email protected].

2. What we collect

We collect the information needed to provide our services:

• Account and contact information — your name, email address, and account details when you sign up, enroll, or contact us.
• Purchase information — what you bought, when, and your payment status. Payment card details are processed directly by our payment provider (Stripe); we never see or store your full card number.
• Learning activity — course progress, lesson completion, and participation in live sessions, so we can deliver and improve the service.
• Communications — emails you send us, and your preferences about receiving our emails.
• Technical information — standard website data such as browser type, pages visited, and approximate location derived from your connection.
• Live session content — our educational sessions are recorded. If you join with your camera or microphone on, or post in the chat, your image, voice, name, and contributions may be part of the recording.

3. How we use your information and on what basis

• To deliver what you purchased — creating your account, giving you access to courses and live sessions, and providing session replays. Recording educational sessions and giving enrolled students replay access is part of the service you purchase. This processing is necessary to perform our contract with you.
• To run and improve the service — understanding how the site and courses are used, fixing problems, and developing the curriculum. We do this on the basis of our legitimate interest in running an effective education business, balanced against your privacy.
• To email you — we send service emails (receipts, access details, session reminders) as part of your purchase. We send marketing emails (tips, offers, news) where permitted by law; you can unsubscribe from marketing at any time with one click, and unsubscribing never affects your course access.
• For advertising and promotion — where we use identifiable images, voices, or contributions from sessions in public advertising, we ask for permission first. When sharing group-session screenshots publicly, we take steps to limit identifying information, including obscuring participants’ displayed names and using small, reduced-resolution images to help protect participants’ privacy. You are always welcome to join sessions with your camera and microphone off, and to use a non-identifying display name. 4. Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that help us run the business, and only as needed:

• Thinkific — our course platform, where your account, enrollments, and learning progress live.
• Stripe — processes payments securely.
• Kit — our email service, for service and marketing emails you receive.
• Zapier — connects these systems so your enrollment, purchase, and emails work together.
• Website analytics — we use ExactMetrics with Google Analytics, and similar tools, to understand how the site is used.

These providers process information under their own privacy terms and our instructions, and may process data in the countries where they operate.

5. Cookies and consent

Our site uses cookies — small files that keep the site working and help us understand how it’s used. Essential cookies run automatically because the site cannot function without them. Non-essential cookies (analytics and advertising) only run after you give consent through our cookie banner, and you can change or withdraw your choice at any time through the cookie settings on the site. 6. Live session recordings

Live practice sessions are recorded so that enrolled students can watch replays — this is part of what you purchase. Recordings are available to enrolled students through the course platform. We remind participants at the start of sessions that recording is in progress. You may participate with camera and microphone off, and use a non-identifying display name, as much or as little as you like.

7. How long we keep information

We keep your account and purchase information for as long as your account is active and as needed afterward for legal, tax, and accounting purposes. Learning progress is kept while your enrollment is active. Marketing data is kept until you unsubscribe. Session recordings are kept while they remain part of the course offering.

8. International processing

We are based in the United States, and the providers listed above may process information in other countries. Where European or UK law requires approved safeguards for such transfers, we rely on the safeguards our providers have in place under their standard terms.  

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, to restrict or object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. Withdrawal does not affect processing that already happened lawfully, and some rights are limited where we need the information to deliver your purchase or meet legal obligations. 10. Security

We use reputable platforms with industry-standard security measures and limit access to personal information to what is needed to run the service. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

Our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
